Quote:
“There are two tragedies in life. One is not to get your heart's desire. The other is to get it.”
George Bernard Shaw
Happy new month, Reader,
The month has begun, as has our full entry to the playbook.
This month is desire, disordered desire...
It's on the premise that we humans are born to love, to be affectionate, to appreciate, and to have a long-standing desire for someone or something.
Yes, desire is not an enemy of humans or Christianity; however, a disordered desire is a strong pull towards something, even at the expense of your soul or the other person's good.
We all know that when our desire is no longer a reflection of love, faith, connection, or satisfaction but an unending pull towards corruption or towards death.
What begins as longing becomes demand.
What begins as attraction becomes entitlement.
What begins as connection becomes consumption.
We sometimes don't see the pull or understand the drive, and then we begin interpreting it as self-expression, freedom, or validation.
Or being authentic with yourself...
But to what extent should we be comfortable with our skin, treating it with every want & craving it desires, or embark on satisfying every unsatisfiable addiction and longing?
This is why this Titan is classified differently.
As a Titan, disordered desire doesn't always seem obvious; even in cultures, it can present itself as liberation, empowerment, or even spirituality and holiness.
However, this month we would journey together through our thoughts on desire and disordered desire...
Email replies are available.
And a one-on-one Friday discussion is available.
A friendly reminder: we are not trying to pick sides or give labels to people; however, we are being reflective of ourselves, society, and cultural influences.
Be Determined. Stay Focused.
