Quote:
“Action is the antidote to despair.”
Joan Baez
Good morning, Reader...
April is here; happy new month.
It's Q2, time to reflect more on our goals and continue habits or systems that would get us to the land we dream of.
Sometimes new seasons like this come with a unique type of tiredness...
from reflecting on our journey, mistakes, progress, and the realisation to do more.
The truth is that no matter how much we achieve or how good last quarter was for us, there is every tendency to push our goalposts farther and recognise only the things not working.
And even if you had nothing to worry about, just being in an environment where there is turbulence, confusion, and frustration, you have the tendency to pick up the mood of that environment.
Can we just take a minute or more to pray (consciously pray) about the terror, fears or whatever it may be happening in our society and the world at large?
We have every reason to stop and refocus our strategy and attention on the problem.
However, not all attention and focus are actually doing something about it, but rather are actually just worry and deep fears.
My thoughts lately have actually been about what one can do about it, beyond ranting, blaming, criticism and passive protesting.
What can we really do to actively counter-attack the violence and suffering around us?
Or are we just worse than keyboard warriors, cowardly dressed up in morals and prestige?
We never know...
But there are even little things we can participate in, giving, healthy conversation, public awareness, or the seemingly little in your heart right now.
We certainly do
have plans and goals,
have desires and ambitions,
know our lives are not where they should be.
And sometimes this can be the definition of selfish.
And other times it can be the requirement needed to progress.
However, at the centre of it all is that we are seeking to use our personal abilities and resources to make better and greater world we live in.
This is what makes every great and known man of history; whether we qualify their actions as good or bad, it is because they understood their role to play and took matters into their own hands to define the society they live in. And if we must do something about today's world, actions must speak louder than words.
Be Determined. Stay Focused.
Ekerete Lord-kris.
